2022 25+ Division Champions -- Rivercats
The Rivercats won their first Championship in convincing fashion 12-2 over the defending Champion A's.
In the championship game, the Rivercats starting pitcher Marty Morales tossed a complete game notching 11 strikeouts while only allowing two runs in the 3rd after two consecutive walks. His impressive performance earned him the Championship game MVP. On the offensive side, the entire Rivercats team had at least one hit led by Christian Espinosa with a double and two singles and 2 RBI. Pablo Curiel had a double, single, two stolen bases and a RBI. Anthony (AB) Stewart had a key double in the 4th that started a six run rally. Michael Ford had two runs scored a hit and three stolen bases. This was a total team victory for the Championship and a bit of a comeback for the Rivercats, who struggled early in the season to find their identity.
Congratulations to Manager Jeremy Wagner and the Rivercats on their first Championship victory!
